The RecoverWell MSW Internship is a master class in whole person care. Our social workers learn crisis prevention and management in a fast paced, patient centered program that exposes students to the real work of social services.
Develop Expert Macro Systems Intelligence
You will gain expert level knowledge of the systems where people can get stuck, blocked or lost so you can help patients access the services they need in a timely manner.

Gain Hands-on Micro Intelligence learning
As an MSW Intern you will develop the skills necessary to earn trust and develop productive relationships with patients and community service providers.
- Advanced biopsychosocial assessments
- Motivational interviewing
- Harm reduction approaches
- Crisis stabilization planning
- Safety planning for suicide and overdose risk
- Complex discharge planning
- Trauma-informed engagement
- Care plan development with measurable outcomes
- Longitudinal case management
RecoverWell Social Work is a Hybrid Role
RecoverWell social workers work with patients in healthcare settings such as doctors’ offices and hospitals as well as by phone and virtual meetings. For the safety of our social work interns we do not do in home visits.
Hours vary by university requirements:
20 hours per week:
Monday-Friday
9:00 AM-1:00 PM PST

12:00PM-4:00PM PST
16 hours per week:
Monday-Thursday
9:00 AM-1:00 PM PST

Monday-Friday
